Grilled Cheddar Pizza

Ingredients

  • Real Food Ingredients
  • 22oz ball of your favorite homemade or pre-made pizza dough
  • Flour
  • Olive oil (for drizzling)
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 2 cups (8 oz) of Tillamook Sharp White Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • Other Real Food Toppings (Optional)
  • 3 strips of bacon, cooked & cut into small pieces
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red onion, halved & thinly sliced along the grain
  • Fresh basil leaves, torn
  • Pizza or Italian dried seasoning

Directions

Light the grill. Turn the heat on high.

Grab your ingredients, long metal tongs or a metal spatula, and an oven mitt, in case the grill handle gets hot.

Lightly flour your ball of dough. Use it all for one large pizza, or cut it in half for two personal-sized pizzas. Knead and stretch the dough into a thin circle or square. Recommended thickness for the dough is approximately ½ of an inch.

Lightly brush the top of the dough with olive oil. Lay the oiled side down on the grill. Now, lightly brush the new top of the dough with olive oil. Cook it with the grill top up, for about 3 minutes. When the underside of the dough is impressed with grill marks, flip it.

Quickly add your tomato sauce, grated Sharp White Cheddar and other Real Food toppings.

Close the lid of the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes. If the pizza starts to burn, but the cheese isn’t melted, turn down the heat.

When the crust is crispy and the cheese is gooey, remove the pizza from the grill. Cool, slice and serve your hungry #RealFoodSunday friends.

If you’re using torn basil, add it to your pizza 1 minute before cook time is up, so the leaves stay fresh.

For cheese lovers, add extra, freshly-grated Tillamook Cheddar to the top of the finished pizza.
