
Greek Style Meat sauce for Pasta.
Ingredients
500 gr. ground beef
2 medium onions, minced
3 tbsp. olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup red wine
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried mint
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 ½ cup fresh grated tomatoes
¼ cup water
½ tbsp. butter
1 lb. pasta
Grated Kefalotyri cheese
Directions
In a saucepan heat the olive oil, over medium heat and sauté the ground beef, until all pink color disappears.
Add the onions, garlic and saute for about 2 min.
Add the wine and allow it to simmer a minute or two before adding the next ingredients.
Add parsley, cinnamon, oregano, mint, salt, pepper, tomatoes and water.
Simmer meat sauce for 30 min, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the pasta according to package directions.
Serve meat sauce warm over pasta garnished with grated Greek Kefalotyri cheese.
